Job Description, Requirements, and Duties


Our Food Service Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the department, including budget control, personnel management, food production, sanitation, equipment operation and related clinical work. The manager ensures that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times and in accordance with the established policies, procedures and standards of the nursing home. The Food Service Manager participates in the performance evaluation of employees working under his/her supervision and is responsible for implementing and applying the4 progressive discipline policy where appropriate. The Food Service Manager is consulted on all hiring and terminations in his/her area of supervision. The responsibilities of the Food Service Manager are: (a) hiring, training and supervising dietary staff; (b) dietary food, supply and labor budgets; and (c) food purchases, production and service.
